Looking to internationalize? With its top-notch infrastructure and buzzing startup ecosystem, the Netherlands is the gateway for Nordic startups to the rest of Europe. If you don’t believe it, join our FIN(D) NL event on the 16th of January to hear the experts’ experiences.

Two smart mobility solutions and two smart business solutions will share their experiences with doing business between the Netherlands and Finland. All are startups or scaleups or have a strong policy on startups. For more information about the speakers, take a look at the bios below.

The event will feature presentations by all speakers and a panel discussion moderated by Janne Saarikko, who has a lot of experience as a moderator, organizer, chairperson and keynote speaker.

Lia Hsu, Project Manager at Connekt Subject: Smart logistics and mobility
Connekt is an innovation network based in the Netherlands. With 450 public and private members from the mobility and logistics sector. The mission is to work together to create smart, sustainable and social mobility and logistics. Lia is leading the Connekt Labs Team which is responsible for the new activities, events and projects at Connekt. Also part of Connekt Labs is the Affiliation program for startups. In this program startups are linked to the members to create more value for both parties.

MaaS Global is the leader in the globally emerging field of Mobility as a Service. The company and its service Whim have been receiving world-wide attention since it’s seen as the most visionary MaaS solution. Whim gathers the best local transport offerings and combines them into one service, providing a flexible user experience and a modern alternative to car ownership. Via a mobile app the user can travel wherever and whenever, on a pay as you go basis or via a monthly subscription – by either mode of transport. Ralph is responsible for implementing the service in the Benelux.

Teele is the Director of Business Development for Vainu.io in the Netherlands. Since joining Vainu as one of the first employees in early 2015 she has played a critical role in growing the company from an early-stage start-up to an international organization of over 150 employees in 5 countries. Vainu generates hot leads for B2B sales and marketing teams by making sales opportunity predictions based on account insights from open data. The step to enter the Dutch market was taken in 2016. From an original delegation of 3 the Dutch team has grown to 15 people, moved offices 5 times and has a portfolio of over 100 clients, working together with market leaders such as Dell, Rabobank and Kuehne+Nagel.

Olli Sirkiä, Founder, LeadDesk
Olli Sirkiä is the co-founder of Finnish SaaS startup LeadDesk. LeadDesk produces cloud-based software for callcenters, serving both SME’s and large companies. LeadDesk has subsidiary offices in six other countries and has today clients from over 20 countries and revenue of EUR 8 million. The Netherlands is one of the main growth regions for LeadDesk, and the office has expanded rapidly since establishing the operations in Amsterdam in 2015.
